Education

My formal qualifications include an Associate Diploma in Music (Jazz) from the University of Adelaide. The principal instruments I studied there were Bass Guitar and Keyboards. I have also completed Third Grade AMEB Music Theory and Second Grade Classical Piano. Throughout my high school years I learnt the Electric Guitar through private tuition and since then I am self taught.

Bands, Gigs & Tours

For most of my Cover Band, Jazz Band and Funk Band work I play Bass. I enjoy playing almost any style of music on the Bass. Since 1994 I have played Bass in a variety of different cover bands including Pop Fiction, Crush and Shaker. In1998 I toured the Hard Rock Cafe circuit throughout China (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzen, Hong Kong.) I have also played Bass in various Greek Bands including the premiere Greek Band "Neirada". As well as these bands I often do fill in Jazz gigs for weddings and corporate shows.

So far as my commercial Guitar playing goes, I find myself in the studio more often than on stage. Most of my work on the guitar has involved original bands and original recordings. I have done commercial gig work with the guitar in the past however I tend to enjoy playing the guitar more if the band I am playing in has an element of originality to it. Original bands I have played Guitar in include  Kelvinator, Happy Patch, Tuscadero and Lazy 8.

I use Keyboards in the studio for production work and for musical soundtracks. In March 2000 I toured Nationally with Theatro Oneiron where I played keyboards for the production of Cafe Cavafy.

Songwriting

My principal instrument for writing music is the guitar and to a less extent keyboards. A great deal of my song writing has been in the context of original bands however I do compose songs for other solo artists and I enjoy writing music for amateur movies and theatre productions. 

Equipment

For guitar I use a Les Paul and a Jazzmaster. My main gig and studio amp is a Marshal JMP 100W amp. Other amps I own include a Fender Twin Reverb, a 1960's Fender Bassman and a Maton 15W Combo.

The bass guitar I use is a Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass. I am currently in the market for a Vintage P-Bass (The ones with the Tele style headstock.) If I am not feeling lazy, I power my bass with two Fender Bassman 135 Heads however most of the time I just use a Carvin Pro 500 amp.

So far as Keyboards go, I use a Korg Wavestation EX, a Roland JX-8P and PC Software Synths. For studio recordings I like to use Cubase SX.
